Driving from Temecula California to Georgia my son found this on google Maps.... We had to stop and see what Texas BBQ was all about. As wee pulled off I20 i got a sinking feeling we were in Bakersfield CA....However, Bakersfield aint got BBQ this good.... Hahaha...We got a little of everything ...and then went back for more ..... A little for the trip to GAGood job boys. loved it.
Very good food definitely coming back. At first a bit confusing as to where to get your food but they let you know how the process goes.
Pretty much self serve. Food was delicious! Might stop back on our way home from the Grand Canyon!
The food was great. It was a little pricey but it was what I expected for Texas bbq. The decoration is super cool. I liked the windmill/ceiling fan!
Great food and great staff
I had a great experience. Brisket was smoked perfect, i got a tray of a little bit of everything just to taste. Entrance is on the side of the building, I walked in the exit. Pay by the pound of food on your tray. It is a little pricey, but I expect that being in Midland.
If I could rate a zero I would....Horrible food!!!!! Must be either new owners or under new management everything was horribly made....WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING!!
Unique system. Kinda backyard. But that just adds to the greatness of it.
The fatty brisket is awesome. Sausages were really good. The brisket beans were some of the best I've had, and nice mustardey potato salad. The spicy BBQ sauce is the only one I think is worth it. Just not a fan of the other flavors, too sweet. Little on the pricier side, but it is smoked to perfection. Seems to be a family run place, and lunch is incredibly busy. I've been trying to make it over for a while, and finally decided to swing in to pick up dinner. Glad we did!
They were very nice and the food was delicious.
Definitely will stop in again! Little pricey but in the end most definitely worth it. Ribs and brisket were amazing. The little BBQ sausage slices were awful. That's my only complaint. Lol. Clean restrooms! Great polite staff. Entry is a little confusing but once ya figure it out it makes sense. 😂😂😂
The absolute best Beef Brisket on the planet!
The food was amazing, the hospitality was amazing, and the environment was great. Got three regular ribs, three sweet ribs, a link of jalapeno cheese sausage and a bottle coke for $42.74 after taxes. It was very good. Meat was $15.99 a pound. EDIT: After eating at Sam's, I think KDs is actually pretty fair priced considering what I got, the time it took to get my food, and the awesome service.
Awesome vibes and I love how military/public service orientated they are. All about the ones who are willing to do good for others! Great food, fantastic service and friendly staff!
Pretty awesome. Food was great! Definitely will be back and would recommend to friends.
What kind of Bar B Que are you looking for? This is authentic Texas with an abnormally friendly staff and a perfect atmosphere. Meat was just what we were looking for.. not too spicy, salty, or greasy; and sauces were pretty much on point. Try the vinegar sauce and prepare to go back for more.
If you’re in Midland this is probably the first place you should come — not only for the BBQ but for the whole experience. The ambiance is exactly what you’d hope for, arguably the perfect environment to eat some delicious BBQ — and bring some friends or family, the more the merrier! What can I say, I’m a fan.. This place is an instant classic in my book... 😝👍
Stopped in about a week ago. The food was delicious. Yes, it is a little expensive. It was worth the price. Not one thing I had tasted bad. It was truly amazing. I just wish it wasn't 1,500 miles from home! Also the staff are friendly and service is great. The decor is a museum in itself. They also support our military as well with parking for vets and active service members.
This place is outstanding! My favorite BBQ spot. FYI love those table readers.
Food is good every time I go and the service is great.
It's a nice looking place. I found it suspiciously empty but was already committed. Pretty sure the food had been in there a day or two. Better off going to Dickey's
Solid Texas BBQ. For all of those complaining about the price, it actually tends to be pretty in line with BBQ places of this type. I skipped the sides but got brisket, a couple ribs, and a small amount of jalapeno cheddar sausage. It was all good. The brisket had an excellent smoky flavor and plenty of fatty goodness. The ribs were full of meat that fell off the bone quite easily. I wish I had gotten more of the sausage, which was nice and savory as it should be. I give the place 4 stars because my meats seemed slightly dry, like maybe they'd been sitting for a bit. This was helped a bit by the "really hot" BBQ sauce which burned like fiery deliciousness. The sweet sauce was great as well. Business was somewhat slow when I went which could explain the dry meats. Would definitely go again should I end up in Midland once more
Love me some kds but their prices are getting a little out of control. Depending on the time you go they get busy and run out of things.
Excellent BBQ! Great friendly service too. I eat here every chance I get.
The food is always all point i love the turkey and ribs, and the beans a peach cobbler the staff are always welcoming and its relaxing a little pricey but worth it one of my favorite spots to go sit down and enjoy some texas bbq
Enter from the side. Grab a tray and walk right up. Order your BBQ by the pound. Scoop your own sides then find yourself a seat. Place is not your typical BBQ restaurant. Feels very much like a backyard BBQ. I am from california so this place was a little bewildering for me.BEST BRISKET IN MY LIFE!! Definitely worth it.
Always a fan favorite. Good NBQ.
Something is off..! Recipes are not being followed... My potato salad today tasted like mustard smells like mustard and looks like mustard. Please pay attentionTo the ones you trust with your recipes. This is unacceptable for a great restaurant like this.I will hopefully change my review on the next visit.
No this isn't it. The ribs have absolutely no smoke flavor at all. And they're extremely, expensive for a rack (72.64) for a rack of ribs? Yea ok. And they wasn't even good. The Brisket was delicious and full of FLAVOR. Probably would not stop here again though.
Very good enjoyed ribz, brisket, jalapeno sausage, beans, smoked jalapeno, fresh jalapeno and cherry cobbler. Ribs were not nearly as tender as they could have been... This was the only down fall except for the price 31$ of all this!
Amazing BBQ. Service was stellar. Pick what you want a little of everything. Grab some brisket, turkey and some sausage! Peach cobbler is also great. Enjoyed it!
My family and I went to KD’s BBQ about a month ago & the food was great! They had letters to Santa for kids to fill out. Our child filled one out to put in their mail box to Santa, and they actually sent a letter back from Santa! I just thought that was extremely considerate of them.
For a good home Texas style barbecue that’s guaranteed to satisfy the most robust appetites... KD’s Is definitely the place for you.... Boasting a vintage Texas farmhouse atmosphere and it’s à la cart style feeding, with sweet dessert selections, accompanied with your choice of barbecued sausages, brisket and tasty ribs, are sure to satisfy all who indulge...Excellent lunch or dinner spot for the crew
Awesome food. The owners are great hosts. Let me stay 15 minutes past closing to watch the end of a game. Very down home atmosphere of days gone by. The sausage, ribs never disappoint. The brisket is one of the best I've ever had, nice and moist. A must stop. The interior decor is historic.
Hadn’t eaten here in years. They catered an event I was at. Boy was I missing out. They knocked it out of the park. Everything was very delicious!!!
Always good food. If you're on I-20. near Odessa and Midland, stop here. You won't be disappointed.
Place is great! I can't say as there's a bad choice to make. Today, had a hot link and a slice of brisket. Both tasted fantastic! Service was fast and friendly. My unsweet tea never got close to half empty. Sauces include regular, hot, sweet, and vinegar (I believe). Used the hot and sweet today. Excellent! Definitely recommend the brisket beans! Recommend.
I try to stop in every time I'm in Midland. Great BBQ!
This is one of the best BBQ places I ever been! The red links are as spicy as delicious, and very original taste in the BBQ beans! :)🥩🥤
Very good service and food. Will be going again when in Midland.
Super tender brisket! It was delicious. I was not a fan of the potato salad. But beans were very good.
It's been 2 years since I was last here, hopefully I'll get here more often. Great briscut, great ribs.
Being from MN, this place was a great experience for me! The atmosphere is one of a kind, the food was good (of course the flavor was different to me being from the north), and the price was great for REAL food. I will bring the rest of the family there when we visit this winter.
Awesome barbecue. Great service. Clean facility. That includes the bathroom.
Pretty good BBQ here ..... A variety of sauces aswell ..... TP 🚛
One of our Favorite places. Food and service is outstanding. We love the sliced brisket.
Purchase by the pound, ribs and sausage were really good. Beans free but everything else is a la cart. The location is an old feed store or something similar and has lots to look at. Great experience from the food to the atmosphere.
You pick your meat from the pit and they cut however much you want. The wife and I had ribs, sliced and chopped brisket and jalapeno sausage. They were all really good although the sausage was our least favorite as it was dry and not very flavorful. You can get coleslaw, potato salad or brisket beans as a side but the pain ol pinto beans they have out on the table are the best side in my opinion and they are free!! There are slices of bread, sauces, onions, jalapenos and other condiments on the freebie bar as well. We got sweet tea but they do have sodas and such in bottles. The service was amazing, everyone was friendly and our drinks were refilled about five times. The place is expensive but well worth the cost!
Old school Big Texas BBQ- The way it should be! Exceptional food. Great selection of meats and sides to choose from. Awesome wait staff! My Sweet Tea never reached half empty. This is an establishment that fulfills a hearty appetite. Hands down one of the top Texan BBQ joints I've eaten at. Two thumbs up👍👍!
Great food! Great service! And great support for our nation's veterans!!
